Next Saturday the St. Peter’s Comox Team will join hundreds of other walkers on the Coldest Night of the Year walk. It’s forecast to snow next weekend, so it might live it to its name. There is still room for more, so join us in this wonderful time of fellowship as well as exercise. If walking is not your thing, please donate. We have raised 36% of our $3,500 goal! If you are uncomfortable about donating online, contact Catherine about donating by cheque.
This week we are highlighting the Comox Valley Transition Society. For over 30 years the CVTS has provided Outreach Services for women, children and families who are experiencing or fleeing abuse, overcoming trauma, working toward recovery and those without shelter or struggling through poverty. Their programs and services include shelter and housing, counselling and support, healing and recovery, crisis intervention, advocacy and education, prevention and awareness. They partner with the RCMP to provide Victim Services to those who are victims of crime. In partnership with the Comox Valley Coalition to End Homelessness, they operate and manage the CONNECT Warming Centre on Cliffe Avenue. They offer supportive and educational groups for girls, men and grandparents raising grandchildren.
Your support of our St. Peter’s Comox Coldest Night of the Year team will make a difference in the lives of many people in the Comox Valley.
