Dear friends in Christ,

On Friday, January 10th I leave for Amman, Jordan to attend the Primate’s Meeting which begins with an orientation day for new primates.    I know that you remember me and the House of Bishops in your prayers generally but would ask your particular prayers during this meeting.    It will be a time to prepare for the Lambeth Conference and finalize the key elements for the Conference as well as discuss current issues around the Communion.   I believe there will be an afternoon to discuss human sexuality and what might be brought to the Lambeth Conference in that area.

I carry with me with the diversity of our Church in so many ways and will be conscious of the gifts of each part of the Anglican Church of Canada in sharing our story with the other primates.    When I was in England in December to meet with staff of the Anglican Communion and the Archbishop of Canterbury I was reminded that we are particularly looked to for the gifts of transparent conversations on difficult topics and our commitment to reconciliation with indigenous peoples as we walk and learn together.    We are a valued member of the Communion and our story and witness are part of the wider story of the whole Anglican Communion and helpful to it.

Pray for this meeting – for good, healthy dialogue and conversations, even and especially when we disagree – and for the building of relationships.

With gratitude for each of you in your ministries,

+Linda
